Rebecca "Becky" Louvinia Porter Davis, 87 passed away on December 31, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family. Rebecca was born April 20, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Mary Lou Porter McGill. She was preceded in death by her husband Alby Reed Davis, and son, Aubrey Reed Davis. Rebecca attended Indianapolis Public School #63, Crispus Attucks High School (Class of '48) and Indiana University (BS '79). She was a registered nurse practitioner, working for Indiana University for 29 years. Rebecca enjoyed a rich life. She celebrated many class reunions and informal get-togethers with her Crispus Attucks classmates. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, and a member and past Asst. President of Clowes Hall Women. She was a member of Traders Point Christian Church, and the Live Wires Sunday School Class. She enjoyed traveling by train across the country, visiting many friends and seeing many sights. Rebecca had a love for people, inviting them into her home for meals, playing cards, and general conversation. She is survived by her daughters Vannessa Davis Ware (Robert), Natalie Davis Miller (Gregory); grandchildren Nathan Davis, Lawrence Davis, Karis Brantley, Bryan Tenner, Taylor Miller, Sydney Miller; three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. There will be a viewing at Crown Hill Funeral Home on Friday, January 5 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., with the funeral immediately following. The internment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
