Mr. Raymond Ezell Redding age 72, was born on May 12, 1946 to the late Inman and Ethel Jackson Redding in Griffin, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Lucille Redding, and brothers Joseph “Preacher” Redding, Clifford Redding, Robert Redding, Charlie “Shane” Redding, and Nathaniel “Joe” Redding.
Mr. Redding grew up and attended school in Griffin, Georgia. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he earned his degree in Electronic Engineering. Mr. Redding worked 34 years for Praxair and Union Carbide, INC. before retiring in 2008.
Mr. Redding gave his life to the Lord in 1993 at Abundant Faith Apostolic Church, under Bishop Larry D. Glass Senior Pastor, serving as a Deacon he later joined Mt. Zion Apostolic Church, in 2012 under Bishop Lambert W. Gates, Senior Pastor.
Mr. Redding loved his wife, son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed reading the word of god, listening to gospel music, bible trivia, watching western movies and watching all kinds of sports. Mr. Redding leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 47 years Mrs. Linda Guilford Redding, Son: Christopher Ray Redding (Jaunise), six grandchildren Tavis Christopher Redding, Brooklyn Davis Redding, Kaleb King, Christopher Ray Redding Jr., Raylin Redding, and Jeremiah Bradley Redding. One sister Sally Barrett, four sister-in-laws, Eula Mae Redding, Elizabeth Redding, Patricia Redding, Geraldine Redding and a host of loving relatives and friends.
