Raymond L. Huffman, 90, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on November 29, 2023 in Indianapolis in his home. Raymond was born in Lexington, KY to Roy Adolph Huffman and Marjorie Rubbathen Skinner Huffman on March 4, 1933. He graduated from Henry Clay High School in Lexington. Raymond married Shirley Ann Kinghorn on March 16, 1957 in San Diego, CA.
Raymond worked for the FBI from 1950 to 1952, when he enlisted in the Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge in March of 1955, he returned to work at the FBI until 1959, and then he and Shirley relocated to Lexington, KY where he began his career with IBM. Raymond retired from IBM as a Field Manager in 1988 after 29 years of service. During his spare time and then in retirement, he loved nothing more than being on the golf course or ‘gone fishing’, and Shirley shared those passions with him.
Raymond was preceded in death by Shirley Ann Huffman, his wife of over 59 years.
Raymond was a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather and is survived by his children, Steven Huffman (Cleria), Susan Cabo (Jorge), and Kenneth Huffman; 4 grandchildren, Leigh Hoffman (Doug), Nicholas Huffman, Benjamin Huffman (Mara), and Nolan Huffman; and 1 great-grandchild, Bryce Hoffman.
Visitation will be Noon – 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 Crown Hill Funeral Home-Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Crown Hill Funeral Home – Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Field of Valor Mausoleum.
