Ramona Buster

Ramona Mae (Creed) Buster, 87, Martinsville, passed away January 9, 2020 in Indianapolis. She was born July 18, 1932 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Isaac and Leola Creed. She attended Green Township Elementary School and was a 1950 graduate of Martinsville High School. Ramona won the Indiana Girls Athletic Association (GAA) State Award in 1950. She worked with Helping Hands at The Waters. Ramona was very active in the American Horseshoe Association where she served as secretary and treasurer for 25 years. She was on the AHPA board of directors for 15 years. Ramona was a three-time Indiana State Fair AHPA champion along with several years Indiana State Fair Mother/Daughter (Vicki) State champion. She received the Miss Horseshoe Honor three times and won multiple AHPA State Championship Awards from 1978-2014. Ramona was active in her children's activities and served as a Cub Scout den mother, 4-H leader, and a Junior Achievement leader. She was preceded in death by her parents, two twin daughters, Sandra and Kandra Buster and her brother Bobby L. Creed. Ramona is survived by her children, Yvonne Brown (David), Madison, IN, Terry Buster, Martinsville, Kay Ackerman-Greer, Bloomington, IN, Jeff Buster (Lynn), Martinsville, Vicki Stannard (Robert), Springfield, KY, and Jo Feltner (Doug), Franklin, IN ; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. A celebration of Ramona's life will be held on January 25, 2020 from 4-8 P.M. at the REMC Community Room in Martinsville. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
