Pauline Virginia (Pannell) Morris was born on March 9, 1936, in Stowe, West Virginia to Shannon Pannell and Ilean (Pruden) Pannell. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Willie Whitehead, sisters, Dorothy Hale, Frances Bandy, Marion Bettis, Armetta Grooms, Arnetta Powell, and brothers, Arthur, Herman, and Danny Pannell.
Her family moved to Beckley, WV, when Pauline was two years of age. She accepted Christ at an early age, attending Welcome Baptist Church. Pauline was united in marriage to Willie Whitehead. From this union they were blessed with four children, Starr, Bill Bill, Reggie, and Dottie.
In 1963, Pauline moved to Indianapolis with her children. Years later, she met Curtis Morris. They were united in marriage on June 5, 1973. While married, they joined Womack Memorial C.M.E. Church. Curtis was a loving husband and father until his passing in 1998.
Pauline worked at Sam's Subway Restaurant for 11 years and never took a day off. While there, she and her co-workers formed a charity club known as the Subway Supremes. When Sam's Subway closed, Pauline worked at Value City with her sisters Marion and Frances.
Pauline loved attending church and wearing her vast collection of stylish hats. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing, and being with her family. Pauline was a beautiful woman who gave great hugs and always greeted you with a smile.
Pauline was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother above all else. She treasured her children and grandchildren, and embraced every moment with them. She had a spirited personality that blessed every heart she touched. Her life was a living testament of "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." Ephesians 4:32.
Pauline departed this life on August 25, 2020, surrounded by her family in Phoenix, AZ. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Elizabeth Starr Sanford (Keith), Reginald Whitehead (Debra), and Dorothea Whitehead-Song; her brother James Pannell (Margaret); grandchildren Starr (Robert House) Song, Shannon (Shareen) Song, Love Song, Branden Whitehead, Stephen Muhammad, and Reginald Muhammad; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
