Paul Stephen Newman

87, of Indianapolis Indiana, passed away Wednesday March 2, 2022. He led a colorful Navy career where he served in both Korean and Vietnam Wars, taught at Vanderbilt University and retired a Chief Petty Officer after 20 years of service. He traveled the world in service for his country and ended up a real home body! He enjoyed telling stories of his youth spent in Louisiana and tales of Catholic school nuns!

He was preceded in death by his wife Vickie (Willis) Newman, his father Ralph Newman, mother Edna (Dowden) Newman and brother Charles (Chuck) Newman.

He is survived by his brother Anthony Newman, daughters Monica (Tony) Starling and Lorenda (Mike) Benge, grandsons Evan Benge, Ethan Benge and granddaughter Stacie (Matt) Walls and great grand daughter Addisyn as well as his favorite girls, Rosie and Zoe (his dogs)! We’re going to miss you around here, but are glad you’re not in pain!

Visitation will be held at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Rd Indianapolis, IN 46224 on Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11 am with service beginning at 11:15 am.

Full Military Burial will be held at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E 38th St Marion, IN 46953 date and time are pending.
