Patrick "Pat" A. Payton

Patrick A. “Pat” Payton, 77 of Coatesville, IN passed away on June 8, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 27, 1946, in Indianapolis, IN to the late Arthur S. and Mabel V. (Pool) Payton, he was the youngest of 10 children.

On March 23, 1968, Pat married the love of his life Nellie (Carnes) Payton, they were married 55 loving years and survives him.

Pat graduated from Bainbridge High School, class of 1965. He enlisted on February 14, 1966, in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Pat faithfully served his country and for this, we give honor and thanks for a life well served.

Pat was employed at International Harvester and retired after 25 years of service.

Pat loved basketball, baseball, trips to the casino, family gatherings and visiting friends.

Pat leaves to cherish his memory wife Nellie, children; Pamela Payton (Coatesville, IN), Rosemary Ryker (Stilesville, IN), Patrick Payton and wife Jennifer (Crawfordsville, IN), grandchildren; Katelyn, Amanda, James Ryker, Cole Payton (Savannah Howard), Connor Payton, great-grandchildren; Kaise and Emmitt Payton, sister Marybel Bannon (Little Rock, AR), brother Mike Payton and wife Cindy (Waxahachie, TX).

A visitation for Pat will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
