Patricia T. Kirkpatrick

86, peacefully departed this life on July 6, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Indianapolis on October 13, 1925 to Lloyd and Rachel (Todd) Wright. She attended Broad Ripple High School and Hanover College, majoring in Education and English. She married the love of her life, Robert S. Kirkpatrick, on August 31, 1946 and remained deeply committed to their union until his death in July 2004. For many years she was a full-time teacher at St. Lawrence and Immaculate Heart of Mary parish schools, and in April 1973, she helped her husband co-found Kirkpatrick Management Company.

Patty (or mom), as she was affectionately known, was a magnificent wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her life was filled with love, enthusiasm and kindness; unquestionably, her family and her faith were her life-long passions. She will long be remembered for her boundless inner strength and courage, her incredible drive to make bad situations better, her tireless thirst for knowledge, and finally, her unwavering faith in Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Camilla “Bobbie Wright” Wottring, Dunedin, Florida and her seven devoted children: Deborah (Joe) Beatty, Robert (Sue) Kirkpatrick, Kevin (Janie) Kirkpatrick, Kyle (Jess) Richey, Patricia (Andy) Hickerson, Mark Kirkpatrick and Margaret (Jerry) Nowicki, all of Indianapolis. She had twenty-two grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be at Christ the King Catholic Church on Tuesday July 10, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed immediately with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. A private burial service will be at Washington Park North Cemetery.
