What a wonderful friend Nancy was.  She took me under her wing when we moved to Indianapolis and the memories we shared are priceless. We moved from Indianapolis in 1984 and over the years our friendship continued. It was such a joy to hear my phone ring and look at the screen and see Nancy’s beautiful smiling face. When we talked it was not a short conversation, more like a couple of hours. Nancy was a very special friend to me, one that came into my life and never left. I was blessed. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and being a part of my life.

Memories are precious!  I have so many of great times with Nancy, Jerry, and their children and with many other families in our "old neighborhood."  Picnics and volleyball at  "the farm," spring breaks in Brown County, New Years Eves, watching our children and grandchildren play basketball and volleyball ----- unforgettable!

The "girls week" on Lake Michigan was the greatest get-away!  Playing cards, cooking together, bocce ball on the beach, shopping, laughing at the skits,  celebrating friendship ---- this is what we did for five days every October.   Dazzling Nancy is in the midst, forever in my memory.  You are loved and missed, Nancy.

We have many fun memories of Nancy. We were not in the Volleyball group but spent many great times with Nancy..parties..weddings . Our friendship first grew because our daughters,Molly and Kara were besties in grade school. They competed in all activities neck and neck...softball,kickball,school projects as Nancy and I looked on with pride and much laughter. Molly always said “Nancy is my second Mom....”

Nancy’s death has left a huge hole in the Turner sisters unit.  We gathered religiously every fall for sisters week or weekend.  We laughed at the same stories, told the same jokes and never tired of it.  No husbands were ever allowed, just the sisters.  Growing up we exchanged cloths, shared bedrooms and teenage secrets.  Nancy was the heart of our family, so much fun and definitely the craziest.  I mourn so for Jerry and the entire family.  It will take a lot of time for this wound to heal.  

I loved Nancy, she was always happy and smiling.  I was able to go to Nancy at Watt A Copy to publish my training program that I sold.  The entire team was so helpful.  I will join with all of her family and friends in missing her!

I never imagined my life without Nancy in it.  We shared a bedroom until she married Jerry and growing up Nancy was my friend and my protector.  We had so much fun through the years.  While our mother was still alive, Nancy and her family and Gail and her family came to Springfield for Thanksgiving every year.  We certainly knew how to celebrate and have fun.  Nancy waited until the table was cleared before standing on the table to deliver toasts.  I will miss Nancy forever, but am so thankful for all the memories and most of all, all of the laughs.  I know Nancy is in heaven and at peace, but I will always miss her.

Mom, you are all of these personalities to the people who love you the most.  We are not going to say good-bye.  We are saying “thank you” for making this world a better place with you in it. 

Mom is looking down on us with a “you-j” smile and telling us “sit up, shoulders back, live life to the fullest, and keep smiling.”

Mom, before you leave us, please know this…… “Thank you, job well done, and you can rest now.  I love you to the moon and back”.

……..and as the story goes…….she lived happily ever after…..

You sure find out a lot about a person playing bridge together every Monday for 20+ years! NANCY had a real competitive side to her and nothing was more fun than being her partner and bidding and winning a slam! She was the ultimate hostess and she didn’t need any help and quietly did it herself.

She and Jerry sure made a great couple and they stood the test of time working together for 16 years , Watt a Team !

And then she became a grandmother, she adored her children but really loved Matthew Lucy and Lily and Lexi. Nothing made her happier than to be with all of them.

She will forever be in our hearts and when Monday rolls around I will sure miss playing bridge with her.

Whenever I think of Nancy, I remember how lively she was. She was always into some project but had time for whoever needed her, including me. She always brought her light and love of fun with her. She will certainly be missed, but I will smile when I think of her.

It was with great sadness that we learned of Nancy's passing.  The Konrads were great neighbors, full of fun, compassion and caring.  Nancy was such a beautiful person, with her radiant smile and a positive attitude toward life.  It was a joy to watch all the kids grow up,  with boys playing hoops in the backyard and Kara as Mark II's first babysitter.  It was truly a delight to have you next-door and we have missed you over the years.
Our sympathies to Jerry, but we know Nancy is in a better place. Thank you for sharing the photographs of all the family events and milestones you all shared after you left Guilford.  We are glad to know Nancy enjoyed life to the fullest  in her later years. We send our love and best wishes.

My deepest condolences are extended to the Konrad and Gin family on the loss of Nancy. I will forever remember her smile, laughter and love for life, family and friends. Sending you all a virtual hug and much love. I loved the video tribute to Nancy. It made me laugh and cry at the same time.

We fell in love with her beautiful smile and sweet personality the first day we saw her.  She made each session exciting and her smile brightened the room. We looked forward to seeing her in class each week.  She was beautiful inside and out and was someone who made a difference in our lives.  When she didn't return to class after her trip her sweet presence was missed greatly.  Though we knew her just a short time, she has a special place in my heart. My prayers are with you. What can I say about a sister that I love so much? She was funny and fun-loving, she was wise and willing to share her wisdom, she was beautiful on the inside as well as on the outside and she was always wanting to lend a helping hand. Nancy and Jerry and Larry and I took many trips together; Hawaii, Mexico, visits in Florida as well as several cruises. I will hold those memories with me forever. I was hoping for one  more trip but it wasn’t meant to be.  I am so sorry I can’t be there for this final send-off but I’m there in spirit.

Jerry, Kara, Tim, Mike...my childhood was sweeter because of Nancy. She was like another mother to me, always making me feel welcomed in your home. I remember times I was at your house and Nancy would walk in the side door, I would be pouring a glass of orange Tang and making a scrambled egg sandwich and she would greet me with her radiant smile and warm hello. I haven't known Nancy and Jerry very long as we all moved into Marquette about the same time, but I have enjoyed having them as neighbors .  She was always so friendly and inclusive even as she was feeling badly during her last weeks here.  She was just a special person.  My sympathy to all.

Dear Jerry and Family,

We were so sorry to read of Nancy's passing in today's paper. What a shining ray of sunshine she was to us and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. When I was setting up my business, Randy suggested I go talk with Nancy to get her advice on what products I would need to purchase , etc..  She graciously shared her knowledge with me and I was forever grateful! 

I would send my clients to "Watt A Copy!" to purchase whatever they might need, knowing that Nancy and you would take care of them.  

I also remember bumping into both of you at the Glendale  Lowe's Hardware store more years ago than I would like to admit. I was so happy we got to visit, even for such a short time. You were both always so special to me!

I have no doubt that Nancy is sharing the many wonderful memories you created together with everyone in heaven and that her radiant smile will shine down on you, your children and your grandchildren, so remember to look for her every once in a while and share a little wink.  May Nancy rest in peace and may you stay well, dear Jerry.

My aunt was a kind, loving and caring person, who raised an incredible family.  I have nothing but exceptional memories. On behalf of my wife Joy and our kids Thomas and Michael our thoughts and prayers are with my Uncle Jerry and his entire family

Gammy was someone who always put the happiness of others before her own. She always walked around with the biggest smile on her face, telling stories that just made you mirror hers. I always remember me running into her house and going through all her makeup and jewelry drawers and saying, “Gammy I found this...accidentally...can I have it?” And her always telling me yes, even if it was some high end makeup product. Gammy would always make me, what I’d call, “her famous sandwiches” while I’d rummage through her cabinets getting out the glass plates and tea cups for a tea party in the lake room. There was never a dull memory with her, and I can vividly and will always cherish every moment spent with her. 

The day after Gammy passed, I pulled out of my driveway on the way to school, and I saw a beautiful full moon with the light parting the clouds. I was overcome with emotions because I knew that was not a coincidence. 

Also, at my school, there is a plaque outside of a classroom, engraved: Nancy/Jerry Konrad and Mary/Gan Gin. A plaque in honor of a donation my parents made in name of their own parents. Quite fitting that I have had two classes in that room over my years at Chatard. Now, more than ever, the plaque reminds me that while Gammy may not be with me physically, her memory and honor is held with dignity everywhere.

There is not one day that goes by that I will not think about her. Her spirit, love, insight, and happiness will continue to thrive, in me and through the many people she touched. I will aspire to keep Gammy’s legacy honored because of the amazing impact she has had on me. 












When I was first introduced to the Cashen family, and the 17+ cousins, Nancy took me under her wing to introduce me to all the female members!  I, having a grand total of two first cousins, was nearly overwhelmed by the number of family members, spouses, and families , gathered in a tiny bungalow in Decatur, Illinois!  We became fast friends, and my memories throughout the years could fill that family volume of crazy stories!  She was the ringleader, the happiest, and kindest cousin-in-law anyone could ever have the honor to know!  Rest well, my friend!  Our love and prayers to Jerry, Tim, Mike, and Kara, and their families.💕

Kara, thanks for letting me know. I forwarded to Ann, Heidi and Jenny. What a lovely woman your mother was!  We all have such fond memories of all of you. The blizzard of ‘72 party, your broken arm from falling off our tree house, hand-me-down clothes, things shared. Know that we have you, your brothers and Jerry in our thoughts. That smile and generosity will be missed!

Our deepest sympathy to the entire family for the loss of Mrs. Konrad may she rest in peace.  We know that she is in a better place and we also know that she was an amazing woman, as we know Kara well.  To raise such a fine woman of faith says a lot about Mrs. Konrad.
