Nancy was born December 17, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN to Richard and Virginia (Springman) Dugan. The eldest of three children. She graduated from North Central High School in 1962 and from Ball State University in 1966. While in college she was a part of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
On July 15, 1967, she married James Alexander Fels in Indianapolis. They were married for 55 years. She was a medical technician at St. Vincent Hospital for many years. Nancy was well known for her floral shop, "The Red Tulip", in Broad Ripple. She was a wonderful artist and decorator. Nancy spent most of her weekends on the beach spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Highland Country Club and TPC Prestancia Country club in her second home town of Sarasota, FL.
To fill her free time even more, Nancy was a chair member of Cathedral High School ShamrAuction, a board member of the Sycamore Springs HOA, and also a volunteer at Sweet Dreams and Wishard Hospital Gift shop.
Nancy is survived by her brother Michael Dugan of Buffalo, NY ;and sister Beth (Don) Lane of Chicago, IL; her husband James; their three sons Jeffery Scott Fels (Andrea) of Indianapolis, IN, Scott Thomas Fels, and Thomas Jeffery "TJ" (Ricky) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren Thomas and Kathryn; 9 nieces and nephews; 8 grandnieces and grandnephews. She was the oldest of 45 first cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life gathering for Nancy will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Northside Events and Social Club, 2100 E. 71st Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
