Myrna M. Hobbs

Myrna Marie Hobbs (Brent), 81, of Indianapolis, passed away August 15, 2021. She was born in Chicago to the late Sarah Lucinda Brent (Miller) and John Howard Brent on June 18, 1940. Myrna received her diploma in nursing from Decatur Macon County Hospital School of Nursing in Decatur, IL and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Master’s in Nursing from Indiana University.

Myrna spent several years as a Nurse Home Visitor for the Marion County Health Department and finished her career as a Clinical Nurse Specialist with the Veterans Administration Hospital. She was a member of a Chi Eta Phi nursing sorority and several other nursing associations.

Myrna was dedicated to her family, to church and to helping others. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and playing the piano.

She is preceded in death by her sister Jeannine Marie Hawkins.

Myrna is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Joe Nelson Hobbs and her children Johnny Lorenzo Hobbs (Lorraine), Jeanne Marie Hobbs and Gregory Brent Hobbs (Shannon); her grandchildren Brandon Greene Hobbs (Marissa), Carlin Greene Hobbs, Sarah Marie Hobbs and Allison Grace Hobbs and great grandchild, Baylor Greene Hobbs. Myrna is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
