NATHANIEL H. BRADLEY SR. was born on March 12, 1933 in Springfield, Tennessee to the late Mattie M. Richmond and Robert E. Bradley. He was an only child primarily living with his grandparents, the late Lutitia Brewer-Richmond (lived to be 106 yrs. old.) and Amon Richmond.
NATHANIEL concluded his high school education at Crispus Attucks High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He then went on to pursue boxing for Golden Gloves. He was runner-up in the 1952 Chicago Tournament of Champions.
NATHANIEL was married to the late Nancy Pettigrew. There was one daughter born to this union, Carolyn Bradley.
NATHANIEL re-married a few years later to Anna Lois Brooks. There were 7 children born to this union: Ronald Pernell, Nathaniel Jr., Karen Sue, Tonya Ann, Gregory Allen, Norman Lee and Regena Lynn Bradley. After 20 years of marriage, Nathaniel and Anna divorced and he remarried the late Doris Jo Hood. After her death, he met Marie Edwards and was a lifelong partner until his passing.
NATHANIEL retired from Allison Transmission, Division of General Motors after 25 years of service. He worked in Heat Treat at Plant 14, Indianapolis, Indiana.
NATHANIEL accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age of 11 years old. He relied on the Lord daily.
NATHANIEL was born unto Eternity on Friday, December 19, 2014 at the age of 81 years. He leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: his children, Carolyn, Ronald, Nathaniel Jr. (Edna), Karen, Tonya, Gregory, Norman (Susan) and Regena (David); Anna Bradley, Marie Edwards and a host of extended family and friends.
NATHANIEL’s legacy will go on from years to years. He built a family foundation on 8 Children, 24 Grandchildren, 38 Great-Grand Children and 5 due next year. He loved his family and was a very positive role model in each of our lives. He will be deeply missed.
