Mrs. Curry worked at the Indianapolis Athletic Club, Methodist Hospital and St. Andrews Small World. She attended John Marshall High School. Her enthusiasm for education was passed on to her children and family.
A member of Trinity CME church since 1963, she served in the choir, as a missionary, stewardess, usher, and feeding ministry. She rarely missed sending cards or a small gift or token for members’ birthdays and became known as the Birthday Card Lady.
Many have been strengthened in their faith by her unconditional love and service. She is survived by her husband, Otis W. Curry, (to whom she was married for 68 years), sister Olga Mae Stigler and Sarah Marie Terry and God-Sister Jeannie Coleman of Indianapolis, Children Otis Curry (Sharon), James Curry (Sherry), and Margaret Curry-Williams, of Portsmouth VA., 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
