Matthew Anders Nielsen

Matthew A. Nielsen 40, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 12, 2016. Matthew was one of the most easy-going and helpful people that you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. Matthew worked for Gaylor Electric, in addition to being a coach for his children’s basketball and soccer teams. He was also a “dance dad” and the former coach of the Franklin Central Girls Basketball team. Matthew enjoyed being a part of the St. Jude Men’s Club and cheering for the Seattle Seahawks, the Tar Heels, Eastern Eagles and Huskies. In addition to being a great coach and friend, he was also a family man who will be missed by his wife of 12 years, Teresa; his children Emma (11) and Evan(5); his Mother, Ruth Nielsen; his sister, Emily (Derek) Hughes; his nephew, Hunter; his mother-in-law, Karen (Randy Comstock) Metro; his father-in-law, Bill Metro; and his brother-in-law, James Metro. Matthew was preceded in death by his father, John. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 15, 2015 from 2-8pm in Little and Sons Stop 11 Chapel. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10am.
