Mary Juanita Brown Williams was born September 29, 1935 in Galesburg, Illinois to Cary and Lucille Brown. She was the oldest of six children. Three of whom preceded her in death. Mary received her education in the Indianapolis Public School System and graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.
Mary accepted the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as her Savior at Light of the World Christian Church under the leadership of T. Garrett Benjamin. Mary was employed at The Finance Center and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She started working as a Court Administrator in 1975 for The Marion County Superior Court #3, where she retired from in 2005.
Mary enjoyed playing card games, such as Uno and Skip-Bo, and an occasional trip to Las Vegas. Mary also enjoyed crocheting, working on piece puzzles and crossword puzzles. Most importantly she loved family gatherings. Her favorite pastime snacks were Reese cups and Hershey bars. Mary had an infectious laugh that will not be forgotten.
Mary Juanita Brown Williams departed this life on August 27,2020 at the age of eighty-four years, ten months, and twenty eight days. She was preceded in death by her parents Cary and Lucille Brown, three sisters, Gloria Miller, Joanne Price and Dorothy Brown, and her grandson Errac Hale.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory, one sister, Lois Clanton, one brother, Rudolph Williams, two daughters, Karen Williams, Sylvia Grider, and one son Darren Hayes. Her grandchildren who affectionately called her Mary Mack, Karsten Sweatt, Steven Williams Jr. (Ebony), Lindsay Reed, Jendayi Olabisi-Erilus (Angelos), James Grider Jr., and Bryce Holloway. Her Great-grandchildren La’Shanta Mitchell, Deasia Robinson, Ke’shon Hale, Steven Williams III, Jordan Fox, Nuelle Erilus, Carter McCombs, Bryce Holloway Jr., and Nyla Erilus. As well as three Great-grandchildren along with a host of other relatives and friends.
