Mary Elizabeth Mitchell

Mary Elizabeth Mitchell 95, of Speedway, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022. Mary was born December 19, 1926 in Sullivan County the daughter of the late Joseph Henry and Rachel Angel. She retired in 1993 from Gannett Publishing as a shipping clerk. Mary was a member of Crosspointe Baptist Church. Mary is survived by her husband of 75 years: Russell Mitchell, children: Donna (Andrew) Patterson and Garry (Monica) Mitchell, sister: Rachel Scoggins, grandchildren: Tiffany Dial, Zachary and Nicholas (Carmen) Mitchell and a great granddaughter: Alayna Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her son: Larry Mitchell, and sisters: Melba Bostwick, Judy Myers and Jean Lindley. A memorial gathering for Mary will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Village of Avon, 4171 Forest Pointe Cir., Avon, Indiana 46123, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM. Mary will be laid to rest in Lincoln Memory Gardens, 6851 S. Indianapolis Rd., Whitestown, Indiana 46075. In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to donations to the American Cancer Society and/or the Alzheimer's Association.
