Following her older siblings at an early age, Martha moved to Indianapolis for a better life. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Paul Moorman on November 24 1955 and birthed 5 children.
Martha was employed with RCA for over 30 years, retiring in 1995 when the plant closed.
Martha was a talented, self taught interior decorator and hat designer. She was absolutely the best. Her hat designs and room arrangements and decorations were one of a kind. Her ideas were her own. She copied nothing or no one; she was authentically original. She was known for making the ordinary extraordinary.
She accepted Christ at an early age and held onto HIS unchanging hand throughout all of her life and even into her transitioning. She loved the Lord and HE loved her. In her weakest moments, she would clap her hands and move to the sounds of gospel music. She was a devout Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She knew no strangers. Everyone was greeted with a big smile and joyful laughter. She was a great friend to many, always lending a hand and checking in on those sick or in need.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents William and and Ermine Rowe, her husband Paul Moorman, four brothers Nelson, Allen, Rondall, William, and two sisters Mary Quisenbery, and Barbara Rowe.
She is survived by one brother Joseph Rowe, her five children Yvonne, Paul, Gary, Michael (Angela Marie), Pam Moorman, and LaTosha Ruffin. Her guardians Ida (April) Spells (Duwan) and caregiver Pamela Atlas. Martha was a loving and devoted grandmother to Lavonne Moorman, Keyonna Moorman, LaTia Ruffin, LeRoy Moorman, Maiskela Moorman, LaTrey Moorman, Jordan Moorman, Mark Jefferson, Michael Hatcher; 20 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Martha departed this life peacefully on June 11, 2023 at the age of 86.
"GOD saw her getting weary, so He did what He thought was best. God came and stood beside her and whispered, "Come and Rest". She bade no one farewell nor even said goodbye. She was gone before we knew it and only GOD knows why."
