Mark was born in Indianapolis to Walter and Tanya Steele on May 28, 1977. He went to high school at Brebeuf Preparatory High School and played baseball, basketball, and football. Mark also was a National Merit and McDonalds All-American Scholar. Mark went on to graduate with a chemical engineering degree from Purdue University. He worked as a software engineer for Freedom Mortgage through Archwell for 4 years. Before working as a software engineer, he was a DJ for the band, KontraBand (originally The Franchize) where he toured with the band performing several shows across the country, including Amsterdam, Netherlands. Mark was a fun loving, kind, generous, funny, smart, and compassionate person. His love of his son, his family, music, and his friends was evident by anyone who knew him. Mark was very proud to be a father to Markus and looked forward to Markus graduating high school and beginning the next chapter of his life. Mark not only loved to DJ and play music, but he also enjoyed his family, spending time with his son, and hanging with his many friends. Mark was full of fun and joy and he made an impact on anyone who was around him.
Mark is preceded in death by his mother, Tanya Steele.
Mark is survived by his son, Markus I. Steele, his father, Walter Steele, and his sister, Michele D. Steele.
Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00am, June 22, 2024, at True Tried Missionary Baptist Church with the Dr. Richard L. Curry, Jr., officiating. A burial will follow at Crown Hill. Arrangements are by Crown Hill.
