Jo was born in Indianapolis on November 4, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Thelma (Royster) Crook.
In her childhood Jo lived on the near-Westside of Indianapolis. She was a 1952 graduate of George Washington High School. After graduation she moved with her family to Irvington.
She married Kent J. Kollman on June 3, 1956 at Irvington Methodist Church. She was a dental assistant for a short time before becoming a full-time mother and homemaker.
Jo was a member of Irvington United Methodist Church for over 65 years, the Fa-Ho-Lo Sunday Class, and Anna Circle.
Jo is survived by her husband, Kent; two daughters: Lisa (Don) Flick and Laura Kollman; and two granddaughters, Emma and Sarah Flick.
Visitation will be Friday, March 26 from 11am to 1pm at Irvington United Methodist Church, followed by the funeral service at 1pm in the sanctuary and interment in Crown Hill Cemetery. Due to continuing pandemic concerns, masks will be required.
Memorial contributions in Jo’s name may be made to Irvington United Methodist Church.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Community East Hospital and Arlington Place for their care of Jo in the final months of her life.
