age 87, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022. Marilyn was born in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of the late Ralph E. and Anna Anderson.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Allison and Rob Robertson, Sharon and Michael Toalson, Miriam and Jim Howser and Judi and James Connor, siblings: Robert and Phyllis Anderson, Ralph Jr. and Denise Anderson, grandchildren: Olivia Howser, Zach and Beth Hiney and family, Lucas and Daffne Hiney and other extended family members including many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert James Anderson Jr. and son Robert James Anderson III.
Marilyn was a woman of faith who deeply loved Jesus and wanted everyone she met to know “our Sponsor.” For many years she was a volunteer every Sunday in the church nursery, hugging the babies and teaching them “Jesus Loves Me.” She also served as a doulah and a volunteer child advocate. She faithfully read her Bible and prayed. She enjoyed writing poems, solving crossword puzzles, singing, using sign language, multiple trips to the Holy Land and finding a bargain –especially thrift store shopping.
Proverbs 31 “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue… She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness…Her children arise and call her blessed…”
A visitation for Marilyn will be held Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Family Funeral Care-Rockville West, 5791 Rockville Rd, Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Marilyn will be laid to rest in West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W 21st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46234.
