Margaret Nicholson

Margaret Nicholson died peacefully at home on August 17, 2018 in Indianapolis, IN at the age of 90. Margaret is survived by her daughter JoAnn Johnson (Carl), 5 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is proceeded in death by her husband Archie L. Nicholson, father and mother Eddie and Ellen Bass and 11 brothers and sisters. She was born on August 10 1928 in Canton, MS. She married Archie Nicholson, a US Air Force Veteran and to this union they had one daughter JoAnn "Nicholson" Johnson. They moved to Indianapolis in 1954 and she eventually was employed as a dietetic supervisor at the VA Hospital of Indianapolis. She retired on August 31, 1988 after 25 years of service and she received several awards for her job performance. She enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, gardening and reading James Patterson's hard backs especially the ones with Alex Cross, he was her favorite. Before her illness she was actively involved in Mount Carmel's Sunday school, Women's day programs and Missionary work. Margaret was an extremely caring and generous person she will be sorely missed! To know her was to love her!
