Magdalene (Powell) Miller, 96, of Indianapolis Indiana passed away peacefully Tuesday January 17, 2017.
Born September 12, 1920 she is preceded in death by her beloved parents John & Nancy (Alexander) Powell. Her siblings, Marie (Louis) Hatcher, Cora (Albert) Appleget, Louise Monday, Cleo Powell, Leon Powell and Arnold (Christine) Powell.
Magdalene is survived by her daughter Beverly Joan (Wayland) Helton and her son
Dallas D. (Cynthia Crawford) Miller. She is also survived by her grandson Rodney Dale (Tammy Duncan) Helton. Maggie has 3 great grandchildren Danielle (Brian) Liggett,
Joshua Duncan and Dustin Duncan. And 4 great great grandchildren Ashley Cook, Hunter Liggett, Maci Duncan and Joshua Duncan Junior. Magdalene is also survived by James (Jimmy) Dale Belcher and Rhonda (Jeff) Blake
Maggie was first and foremost a mother, grandmother and home maker. She adored her family. She loved music and loved dancing, she was small is stature but larger than life. Maggie was renowned for her cooking and baking skills. She was an avid gardener and always had beautiful flowers gardens and lawns. Maggie’s favorite time of year was Christmas, she decorated inside and out. Her holiday dinners were famous and there was always plenty for anyone who wanted to come. Her door was always open and she always believed there was no place like home.
Visitation will be Monday, January 23, 2017 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, with Funeral Service at 1:00pm, at Family Funeral Care, 5791 Rockville Rd., Indianapolis, Indiana 46224, (317) 381-7100. Final Resting will be at West Newton Cemetery.
