Linda Ione Pettifor

76, of Indianapolis, departed this life Monday, November 21, 2016 at her home. She was born April 30, 1940 in Eaton Rapids, MI to the late Harold and Esther (Dana) Howe. She earned her degree in elementary education from Central Michigan University. She was a former member of Victory Baptist Church in Whiteland, and more recently a member of Burge Terrace Baptist Church. She was very active in her church. She taught Sunday school classes, worked in nurseries and vacation bible schools, and was very active in women’s missionary groups. Linda was dedicated to her family and enjoyed gardening, canning, sewing, reading and bird watching. Linda is survived by her beloved husband of almost 55 years, Keith H. Pettifor; her loving children, Michelle (Dean) Harmon, Lynda (Melvin) Smallwood and Tim Pettifor; grandchildren, Josh Smallwood and Janna, Nathan and Joy Harmon; sister, Teri Howe and brother Bill (Marie) Howe. Linda was preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Walt Howe. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm on Saturday, November 26th at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by a memorial service at 5:00 pm. Private burial will be at Marion National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Burge Terrace Baptist Church Mission Fund.
