Linda retired from North Salem Elementary School after working as an aide for 25 years. She was in the first graduating class of the new Ben Davis High School, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Gaslight Theatre.
Linda is survived by her husband of 51 years; Jim Overton, children; Lisa K. "Overton" Fosnight and Jeffrey D. Overton, siblings; Becky Whisler and Jerry (Jeani) Weakly and grandchildren; Ethan, Lena K. Olivia and Scarlett Fosnight, Andrina and Jackson D. Overton.
Linda was a loving wife, mother and Mimi. She was the kind of person who would give to those around her and was there for anyone who needed her. She was an example of the kind of person we all should strive to be and was a wonderful influence on those who were blessed to know her.
She was the mom that her kids friends enjoyed being around because she made some great food, and she was always front row cheering all of them on! Jim, Jeff and Lisa would tell you everyone knew when she was cheering them on because she was loud on the sidelines.
Linda was Mimi to her grandkids. Each and every one of them will tell you how special she was to them. Mimi would spoil them with hugs, kisses and treats! She made some of the best food and desserts, which they enjoyed!
Mimi and papaw were a package deal, like peanut butter and jelly. She would bring the treats and papaw would bring the laughs!
A visitation for Linda will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Family Funeral Care. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Family Funeral Care.
