Lesley R. Thomas, (nicknamed Brownie), was born April 4th, 1950 to Exie Mae Carter-Thomas and Leslie Thomas in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Arsenal Technical High School. Lesley united with Mt. Paran Baptist Church during his youth and later joined Zion Hope Baptist Church.
Lesley R. Thomas voluntary entered the United States Air Force in 1969. During his time in the Air Force he served his country as a firefighter in the Vietnam War & Thailand. Sergeant Lesley Thomas was awarded the Airmen's medal for heroic acts on February 21, 1973.
Lesley, was employed at Ft. Harrison United States Army post for 28 years and Grissom Air Force Base for 5 years as a Federal Firefighter.
On September 28, 1974, Lesley R. Thomas and Shirley A. Robinson united in matrimony. Mr. & Mrs. Lesley and Shirley Thomas celebrated 44 years together.
On December 21st 2018, Lesley R. Thomas departed this life at the age of 68. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; Exie Mae and Leslie Thomas and daughter Tasha Thomas- Roper. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Shirley Thomas, brother Steven Thomas, daughter NaTasha Allen(Mike); son Tyrone Thomas; sister-in-law Janet(Lee) Stanford, grandson Malik Roper; granddaughters, Zhane Roper, MiKael Allen, & MiKala Allen Uncles, Robert Carter (Gladys), Clarence Carter (Betty), General Lee Carter (Glodene), Jermone Carter (Bonnie); Mother in law, Catherine Robinson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, loving relatives and friends.
