Starr departed this life on Friday, December 29, 2023. She was 61 years old.
Starr changed her life and was baptized as a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses; a testament to her unwavering determination to serve Jehovah. Starr deeply loved her Christian family and friends at the Kingdom Hall.
Starr was a professional caregiver to many children both inside and outside her home. She worked for 6 years at Little Creek Day Care. Starr had many talents including starting her own business, “Just Popping” balloon / T-shirt services. She was often referred to by her children as a “Phenomenal Mother”. Starr attended IPS School #41; and graduated from Northwest High School. She earned a BS Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and began pursuing a master’s degree, despite her illnesses she continued to reach for her goals.
Starr was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She was very active in her grandchildren’s lives, building close relationships with them all. They loved going to grandma’s house, especially T.T. who was her grandma’s sidekick for sure. Starr’s sons were her pride and joy, and she was their “ROCK”. They loved their mother deeply and were always happy to be on a travel adventure with her. Starr had a zest for life that was infectious. If you met Starr, you would remember Starr. She had a shining personality which explains the given nickname “STARR BABY”.
Starr leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband Lewis Nash; two sons Kevin Jennings and Christen Jennings; one surrogate daughter Tajuana Davis; and five sisters Lenora Harlin, Lanette Bell, India Currie, Jacqueline Jennings, and Loretta Jennings. Her six beloved grandchildren and her extended family, including her Mother-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law. A very best friend in Renee Gattis-Willis. A Host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
