Leonard Adam Griesemer,
80, of Indianapolis, passed away January 21, 2017. Leonard was born September 16, 1936 in Sumner, IL son of the late Melvin L. and Florence “Edmondson” Griesemer. He worked as a directional driller for Eastman Whipstock. Leonard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney, IL and St. Pius X Catholic Church, Army Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 30. He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Jane “Brookfield” Griesemer, children: Jill Funk, Richard L. Griesemer, Ann Worden and Donna Treece, brother: Vernon, sister: Hazel Hills and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings: Opal Sturgeon, Thelma Gaither, Fern Blacker, Velda Griesemer, Harold, Leon, and Leroy Griesemer. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 27, in St. Pius X Catholic Church at 1:30 pm (ET) with visitation from 11 am (ET) until time of Mass. Graveside services will be Saturday, January 28, at 11 am (CT) in St. Joseph Cemetery in Olney, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorials in Leonard name may be made to the Olney American Legion Post 30.
