94, of Indianapolis, passed away on July 25, 2015. Leona was born on October 30, 1920 in a small German Settlement in Oldenburg, Indiana on a dairy farm where she worked very hard. When she was 14 years old she drove a milk truck and delivered milk to all the people in town before she went to school. She was from a family of 4 siblings. Leona met and married Harold Walterman on Valentine’s Day in 1942. Leona loved to travel and spend time with her family. Leona worked at SS Kresge and William H. Block Co. for many years. But, most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Leona is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Harold Walterman, children; Delbert (Kathleen) Walterman, Carolyn (Edward) Hoeping and Donald (Vicki-deceased) Walterman, brother; Wilber “Doc” Flodder, 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. Leona was preceded in death by her daughter; Connie Gregory. Visitation will be held at Little and Sons Stop Eleven Chapel on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
