She later moved to New York City where she met and married Emmitt Weaver Williams in 1944.
The couple settled in Indianapolis, Indiana and raised a family. She worked at RCA before she retired in 1985. Afterwards she became a senior companion and enjoyed a host of activities such as attending church, cooking, entertaining, her friends and family, knitting, traveling and going to the casino.
Affectionately known as Grandma Lee, she was especially proud of her children, grand children and great grandchildren's accomplishments and often spoke fondly of all of them.
Her husband, Emmitt Williams, sister, Annie Bell Grant, Alice Neal Hawes, Fannie Mae, Mary Lou Leverette and Lucille Jenkins and brothers Robert Lee Hawes, Iris Hawes and Ellis Parks preceded Lee Anna in death.
She is survived by her siblings Herbert Hawes, Isom Hawes, Helen Bennett (Thomas). Her children, Gail Blakemore, Tommie Williams (Cassandra), Vickie Gaines (Michael) and Anthony Gilcrease; grandchildren Staff Sargeant Tyrone L. Dawn, Irvin Gilcrease, Captain Brandon Williams (Retired) and her great-grandchildren Nicole Gilcrease, Ernest Gilcrease, Vivian Gilcrease and Amari Gilcrease.
