Lauren Marie Shoemaker

Beloved daughter, sister, and loving Mama. Lauren is survived by the joy of her life, her eight year old daughter Kaitlyn, her parents Mark & Sherry Shoemaker, and brother Robert Shoemaker. The focus of Lauren’s life was raising her daughter, and one only needs to meet Kaitlyn to know that Lauren was successful in that endeavor. She loved the outdoors, she was a “bait your own hook” kind of girl, yet also not afraid to dress to the “nines”, a true fashionista when she chose to be. Lauren loved all God’s creatures great and small, especially soft, squishy puppies. Lauren had many pets over the years and volunteered regularly at the Indianapolis Humane Society.

Lauren attended Franklin Central High School, playing trumpet in the band and playing on the tennis team, graduating in 2004 with Academic Honors. She was a manager for Speedway convenience stores after graduating high school. Also a fan of fine food and the culinary arts, she started Healthy Home Cooking which evolved into The Mixing Bowl restaurant in Martinsville. Lauren also obtained a degree in medical transcribing and worked from home transcribing lectures.

Second only to Kaitlyn, Donnie Raines was the love of her life, her Semper Fi. Lauren loves Donnie, for love never dies. And Lauren will forevermore be Kaitlyn’s fierce and loving guardian angel.
