Kevin Patrick Quigley died as he was born – surrounded by a crowd of his boisterous, loving family. Kevin was born January 22, 1965 and died November 12, 2011.
Compressing Kevin’s 46 years into a non-moving space is a challenge. Kevin lived life in the fast lane and in high definition. He had a personality and a smile bigger than any big-screen TV. Kevin loved open wheel racing, Notre Dame football, action movies, cooking, running and poker.
Kevin was a 4-sport letterman at Park Tudor where he ran cross-country and played football at the same time. He was most proud of his role as Marryin’ Sam in the school’s production of “Li’l Abner”. Kevin was a summer Page for Birch Bayh in the United States Senate. He then attended Wabash College, where he pledged Phi Delta Theta, and Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. In his career, Kevin was a software and hardware specialist and salesman for more than 20 years.
His greatest love was for his Irish-Slovenian family and, at the center of his heart, were his two daughters. Kevin expressed his love to all, always ending his conversations with “love ya”. His two brothers and sister agree they couldn’t have asked for a better older brother.
Survivors include Kevin’s two daughters, Delany and Makenna; parents, Barbara and Jerry Quigley; sister, Erin Quigley; brothers Christopher (Angie) and Michael; niece, Sarah McDonald; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and long-time friends (as witnessed by tributes on his Facebook page)…and his childhood imaginary friend Pashi Dodo.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 17, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, from 9:30 am to Noon. A Catholic Mass will follow at Noon.
With deep appreciation for the love and care Kevin received from Dr. Anne Greist and her staff at the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, 8402 Harcourt Road, Indianapolis, IN 46260. The family also wishes to thank St. Vincent Hospital Hematology/Oncology Unit, all of the ICU staff and, especially, Doctors Riley, Hasbrook and Fecht. Donations also may be made to Progress House, 201 South Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Memorial tributes may be offered at www.feeneyhornakkeystone.com.
