Mr. Kevin McDuffie was born July 19,1964 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Oliver and
Luvarn McDuffie(Taylor).
Kevin received his education from IPS Arlington Woods #99 and
graduated from Arsenal Technical High School.
Kevin gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Eastern Star Church.
Kevin married Pamela Johnson on February 17, 1996 Kevin adored his wife of 24 years and
together they built their family in Indianapolis, IN.
Kevin received his CDL and certification in HVAC. Kevin started his career with Carrier Corp for 6 years. Kevin then began working for IPS bus services for 2years following with Celadon Trucking Company for 5 years, and lastly working for IndyGo Transportation for 3 years until his illness.
Kevin was an advocate for education. He always encouraged his young passengers to go and stay
in school. He always wanted them to better themselves by becoming educated in the things they
were passionate about. If Kevin received a reply that a person was not sure what to pursue in
school, he would reply “Start with your passion, explore the things that mattered most to you”.
He always loved to challenge young people to think and go further than their current
circumstance. Kevin was also an encouragement to young single mothers. He would acknowledge
their struggle and reassured them it would be worth their sacrifice. Many times Kevin was seen
in his community regardless if he had on his uniform; someone would yell “Hey, you my bus
driver!” This let Kevin know he was being heard and having an affect on those he poured into.
Another passion that Kevin shared was the importance of voting. Kevin was a stickler for voting
and did not miss an election. Kevin loved to read books and always will be the funny uncle, he
always kept everyone laughing. To his friends he was “Popcorn”, “Afroman”, and “McDuffie”.
He was loved by so many, he knew no stranger and could have a conversation with anyone.
Kevin always kept it “100” with everyone. His greatest accomplishments were his children and
grandchildren.
Kevin departed this life on Monday August 24, 2020 at the age of 56 years. His parents Oliver
