My deepest condolences to the family of Kevin, Casey, as I knew him.
This is hard, but here goes...
Though I hadn't known him long, my heart aches all the same. I was acquainted with Casey through his good friend Jeremy. I lost a love last year and finally asked Jerrmy to help me get in touch with Casey to know him better, when everything was happening to him healthwise. We chatted on phone and text. Often got a Good Morning, how are you today text. I spent two long days with him. He talked about watching movies and having popcorn and going to listen to jazz music when he got better.  I told him I'd never met someone born on Christmas before. He smiled and gave me the cutest wink. 😉. Just melted my heart.❤. 
I felt very connected to Casey. As if we were old souls that'd known each other a long time. He described himself to me as an Artist. a musical genius. And his favorite "thing", was helping others.  We were a bright spot in each other's lives. Wish we had more time. We gave each other very long hugs before I left. Got a picture with him. He looked so happy.  I will miss and remember him,  always. So sweet and kind hearted. He longed to get back to his music and loved his family. Casey Dear, your wings were ready, but we weren't ready to let you fly. Rest in peace my friend. You'll always be loved and cherished. God Bless!

Gave Kevin his first guitar, and taught him his first few chords back in his pre-teen days. He spent hours watching and listening to practice of  bands that I was in, and Kevin and I spent hours talking about everything from music theory, to stage setup, to showmanship. He was about 10 years younger than me, and was passionate about his music. I loved watching his musical career progress, and took pride that I might have had a little to do with his passion.  He called me Papa Rick. Rock on Casey. Love ya.

Kevin was the very first person to get me involved in singing here in LA.  He heard me singing in the shower and asked me to do back up vocals for Kidd Comet.  Without his faith in my ability and the opportunity he gave me, who knows if I would be singing as I still am today.  Casey, as I knew him, was a talented and kind man, with a Godly passion for life. He was generous and just a good man. We still occasionally messaged each other about music. He will be greatly missed. Fly free and I’m sure you are with the Angel Choir now.  My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues. 

Casey was always so kind, genuine and caring and very appreciative . He never complained about being so sick. He had a very strong Faith and was grateful everyday. I will miss his friendship and his talent. Love you Casey and I know you are sharing your amazing talent in Heaven today❤️🥰🙏

My deepest sympathies go out to Kevin's family. May God give you the peace that you seek. I loved Kevin like a brother. I will forever miss him greatly.
