Kathleen Joan McIntyre

Kathleen Joan (Martin) McIntyre, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away September 16, 2023. Kathleen was born February 27, 1928, in Indianapolis to the late Carl and Agnes (Owen) Martin. Kathleen wed Donald E. McIntyre on October 20, 1951, and their marriage became the defining love story of her life.

Cherished by all who knew her, Kathleen welcomed family into her home with a rare generosity of spirit. A devoted animal advocate, she passionately cared for her dogs, and at Christmas, she lit up with enthusiasm, excited to shower relatives with gifts. She had an infectious laugh that will be deeply missed.

Kathleen is survived by daughter, Gina; granddaughters, Mary and Violet; and beloved great granddaughter Rosaleen. She is also survived by four nieces: Jacqueline, DiAnna, Denise and Donna. Kathleen was preceded in death by husband Donald; parents Carl and Agnes; brothers Donald and Gordon; sister Dorothy; and daughter, Victoria McIntyre.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Kathleen on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Feeney Hornak Shadeland Mortuary, 1307 N. Shadeland Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46219. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 pm.

Kathleen will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 10:00 am.
