Died on May 29, 2022, in Indianapolis, IN
Born February 18,1929, in Minneapolis, MN to Robert J. and Mildred Cochrane Crowley. She was predeceased by brothers Robert J. Crowley, Jr., David C. Crowley and husband Rabb Emison.
Her high school years were spent on Long Island and she graduated from Garden City High School. She graduated from Stephens College, Columbia, MO in 1948 with an AA in History and from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN in 1950 with a BA in History. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma.
A “professional citizen,” she participated in the community by serving on a number of boards in her adopted hometown of Vincennes, IN. She served as president of the local chapter of AAUW, as well as the boards of the Knox County Public Library, Knox County Red Cross, Vincennes Parks and Recreation and as president of the Indiana Lawyers Auxiliary concurrently with her husband Rabb serving as president of the Indiana State Bar Association.
Kathleen was fiercely proud of her Irish heritage and claimed it as the source of her longevity - as well as almost any good fortune that came her way. Her love of travel was rewarded with many vacations both abroad and across the continental US. She learned to read aviation charts and was a willing co-pilot to Rabb on many pleasant vacations across the lower 48 states during the 45+ years that he was a licensed, instrument-rated pilot.
She is survived by her daughters Susan Emison of Louisville, KY and Anne Emison Wishard (Gordon) of Indianapolis as well as six nieces and nephews. A reception will be held at the Olde Mill Clubhouse on June 12th, from 4 - 6 p.m. 165 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. Services will be held at a later date in Vincennes and County Cork, Ireland. Arrangements are being handled by Crown Hill Funeral Home, Indianapolis.
