Julie Kay was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, and graduated from George Washington High School. Julie worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for 36 years (her children can still hear her keyboard clamor).
Julie loved the outdoors and enjoyed early mornings in the summer the most. She would begin most days with the windows open, listening to the birds, with her coffee in hand. She most loved the simplicity of life. No one who met Julie forgot her infectious passion for her children and her home. She gave all the Glory to our Father in Heaven whom she said was her redeemer.
Julie also held her friends in very high regard. Whether it be bargain hunting, going to lunch, or laying in the sun, these were her most precious times.
Julie and her daughter Ashlee were "thick as thieves†to her son’s dismay. The both would conjure, weeks in advance, novel ideas of the next April Fools’ prank. Christmas was not off limits for these two either. There have been stories of: caramel coated onions, silly string, mid-night howling, and Estee Lauder perfume; don’t ask…..
Julie Kay had a heart for those stricken by circumstance and the less fortunate. She would often go out of her way to help people she identified with. She reminded her children that we have a responsibility to reach out anyway we could.
Julie Kay Dickman was preceded by her parents and 3 brothers.. She was survived by her two children and sister: Ashlee Wilson, Lawrence "Bubby†Conley, and Karen Gahimer. Julie had 8 grandchildren who were her pride and joy.
Julie’s motto was: "Never put off tomorrow what you can do today.†The fabric she laid will be a lifetime of comfort. The love that she left will fulfill those left behind. Julie Kay Dickman is fully justified, glorified, and made white as snow. In eternity she will wear many crowns and be called Faithful Servant.
