Joyce Olivia Gibson

Joyce received a formal education at St. Peters Claver Catholic School, Harlem Elementary, Booker T Washington Jr. High School and graduated from Middleton Sr. High Class of 1961. She also attended Gibbs Junior College in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Joyce moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1998 and was employed by the Marriott Hotel, Omni Hotel and the Salvation Army. She joined Zion Hope Church in May 2019. Joyce was active in the Food Pantry for the church, and the Missionary Outreach Ministry under the leadership of Pastor Tony McGee. Early Thursday morning February 23, 2023, God and his infinite wisdom called Joyce to reward her for a job well done. Joyce accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savoir at a very early age. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her mother; Mary Gibson Rouse, father; Pleas Gibson and grandmother Bertha Fleming.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her sister; Loretta Caldwell, niece; Larenta M. Fitch (William Jr.) and great nephew William Jalen Fitch along with a host of relatives and friends.
