Joyce Ann Arnold born May 26, 1953 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Wilma Graves and Levon Graves Sr. was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, grandmother, and friend.
She attended Broad Ripple High School, and graduated in June of 1971. She then furthered her education at Indiana University, Anderson College and later transitioned to Indiana Vocational Technical College when she graduated from nursing school in February 19,1985.
At the devoted age of 15, she commited her life to Christ and was filled with the holy ghost under Dr. Ida M. Sanders. She had two beautiful daughters, Kelly Ducking and Latoya Viringipuram (Alex Viringipuram) with Samual Lee Ducking.
She was joined in matrimony to Theotis Arnold on July 31, 1983, and with this union was born a beautiful daughter, Tamika Ann Arnold. Later on in life she was blessed with her son Issac Arnold, and grandchildren Lemarcus Domnique Bickley, Kayla Briann Ducking, James William Lewis Jr, Joshua Allen Lewis, Christopher Jamal Ducking, Codie Jay Ducking, Armenia Ann Arnold.
She cherished her time with family including her brothers Leon Graves and Levon Graves, and her sisters Sharon Mason and Ceolia Jones. She also loved her nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Passionate to serve her community, she worked at Wishard and Methodist Hospital for over 30 years. After some time, she retired from Methodist in 2011. Hard-working and focused, she picked up a part-time job at Walmart (Her favorite store).
In 2009, she became a foster parent, and nurtured every child that came into her home like her own.
In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping at some of her favorite stores, working in her yard, and spending quality time with friends and family. She enjoyed traveling and the outdoors, some of which included coasting around the world with her family and dear friends. She was a self-sufficient woman, who instilled confidence and strength within her family. She pursued the habits of love, tenderness, understanding, sympathy, unbiasedness, and acceptance.
She was such a strong woman who aided in helping everyone she came into contact with. Such a peaceful soul, she was blessed to have served in the Church Of God In Christ as the Evangelist Missionary, Church Mother, State YWCC President, Choir Member, and Teacher of the Prayer and Bible Band. She loved the church and always encouraged people during their walk with the Lord.
On August 28, 2022, she took her final journey home to be with her Lord. At the pearly gates of Heaven, she was ushered in and greeted with a warm hug and a smile by her Mother Mr & Mrs. Graves. To her dearest family and friends, she is watching us from heaven above. Dwelling with God there are no more tears, just love. Though her body has passed, God welcomed her home today. Even when she’s not physically here, her love is here to stay.
