Please accept our deepest condolences. We remember Josh fondly from school and lacrosse. He was a sweet and gentle soul. We are holding you in our hearts.

Josh was one of the kindest and most generous people I've met. He regularly put others before himself to make sure they felt safe, secure, and in general were having a great time. Though often quiet, Josh's infectious smile and energy lit up the room, and he was a sneaky good motivator to get you to do something new or fun with him. I trust that his spirit will live on and that we all will remember how Josh made us feel.

Josh - your presence will be deeply missed by all who knew you.

The active chapter and alumni members of Sigma Chi at DePauw University convey their deepest sympathies to Josh's wife, parents, family and friends at his passing.  

He will always be remembered and valued for his qualities of heart and mind.  His friendship was enduring; his generosities were large; and his life was an inspiration. 

We will always cherish the sweet memories of him we loved so well.

So very sorry for your loss . I had the pleasure of meeting Josh along with his wife Kaylee early last winter. It was always a pleasure running into both of them sharing great conversation and laughs. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you .

I only met Josh recently, but he was a kind and friendly guy and you could tell he loved his wife and his families very much. May the good memories you have of him see you through the difficult times ahead. My heartfelt sympathy for Kaylee and the Trewartha and Sanders families. 

Hello Sue. I am just now reading about your son. Although I realize there really are no words , I want you & kurt to know how very sorry I am for what you must be going through. Know also, that my prayers, along with those of many, many friends are with you now & always.

Brad and I only met Josh and Kaylee when they moved in next door to us this year. But watching the two of them tackling household projects together was something. They worked hard and loved hard. One of my favorite memories was watching the two of them fertilize the grass on a 4 wheeler… there’s just nothing they wouldn’t do. Josh was easy to like… had I known he was a chef in training I might have sent better meals over when Kaylee was traveling! We will think of him when we decorate for Christmas. He mentioned many times how much he loved it. 

Our hearts are broken for you Kaylee. 🤍

So sorry to hear about the passing of Josh. We had him in Sunday school class and he was always so thoughtful, and respectful. We are so very sorry to hear about the loss. Our prayers for the family. 

Josh was a great friend to all at Depauw. I’m at a loss for words because he had the biggest heart and was always so kind. He was very close to everyone in longden freshman year and would make sure the all the girls got home safe.  It was just the kind a person he was, a true gentleman. My condolences  go out to his family, wife, and friends. 

I knew Josh from his time working for Stanley. We only met over weekly video meetings, but it didn't take long to see Josh has a kind heart, always a big smile, and always willing to help his team members. Such sad news to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and those who will mourn the loss of Josh. After his last breath here Josh awoke in the Kingdom of God; Jesus there welcoming him with His life giving embrace. My prayers are that all who mourn the loss of Josh will find solace in God's promise, and knowing that Josh is happy, alive, and waiting for the day we will be united again. God bless.

My heart is saddened for the loss for the Trewartha family.

My life was forever affected by Bruce who guided me as a newbie at Allison Transmission. I will always feel some indebtedness to him and his family.

Sounds like Josh had a good life for his 27 years.  

Josh, you were one of my best buddies when we were little. We met at Farm Fun preschool and I loved going there just to spend all day with you. Then we worked together raising those baby chicks in the incubator at Pleasant View...they were so cute! At recess one day you gave me a drawing you made, 20 years ago, of a pink ladybug. You said you knew they were my favorite and you wanted to bring me a real one but it wouldn’t make the trip to school. So you drew one. Next to it, you wrote a note saying you liked being my friend and I saved it in my dresser at my parent’s house. I wish i could hold that picture now. You were so sweet, I am so lucky to have grown up with you, and your memory will forever be a blessing to all of us. I wish I could have taken away even a little bit of your suffering.
