Josephine L. Ayers, 86, of Indianapolis, passed away with family by her side Saturday afternoon, December 23, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jack L Ayers. She is survived by a sister, Mary Albertson, and her four children and their spouses: Tom and Cathy Ayers, Gary and Glenda Ayers, Greg and Cheryl Ayers, and Brenda and Darrell Mendenhall.
She has nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (with three more on the way!).
She was a loving and caring person to everyone she met. She was always giving hugs to people. She loved being with her family and spending time with them. Her Sunday church class and her quilting group both brought her deep friendships and lots of joy.
We will be celebrating her life and arrival in heaven at the Crown Hill Cemetery on 38th Street in Indianapolis with visitation 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and service at 1 p.m. in the Remembrance Chapel. There will be a short graveside prayer for those wishing to attend.
She has requested that those wishing to, make a donation to either: St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Riley Children's Hospital.
