He attended Southport High School, where he graduated in 1962 before furthering his education at Purdue University, earning a BA in History in 1966. Joe married Reggina Boss in 1974. He dedicated many years of hard work and commitment to Joachim Machinery, until his retirement.
Joe had a love for history and particularly for genealogy. He spent countless hours meticulously researching his family lineage. An avid reader, he loved science fiction. Additionally, Joe found great joy in watching soccer.
He was preceded in death by son John, sister Emilie (Weimer), and his parents John and Marjorie. Joe is survived by his wife Reggina, daughter Erin, and granddaughter Aubrey. He also leaves behind nephews Michael and Daniel Weimer.
A celebration of Joe's life will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home’s Gothic Chapel on Wednesday, December 20th at 12pm, with visitation starting at 11am. Enter through 34th street gate, drive straight up the hill to the Chapel.
In honoring Joe's memory, the family kindly requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to the Brown County Historical Society (PO Box 668, Nashville, Indiana 47448), where much of his early genealogy research was conducted.
