Although I didn’t work for John directly at AAA and didn’t know him on a personal level I was touched by his granddaughter’s memories and tribute to him. I, too, remember him as a gentle giant and from the photos you shared he was a lucky man indeed to have you all and you him. 
I do recall him trading deadhead music with someone near the office I worked at in the 90’s. Rest In Peace John and prayers to his family and friends

My deepest sympathy for the loss of John Davenport. God will comfort your broken heart as you grieve his loss. Loved by many and the most by Norma Jean. A match made in heaven. Special prayers to Norma for the loss of her soul mate. Two people could not have been more meant for each other in love, life, marriage and friendship. I was a neighbor in Eagle Valley back in the early 90’s and met Their Daughter Annie and her three Children as they moved into the condo by mine. One day shortly after John and Norma pulled into the drive dressed in tie dye . They were picking Annie up to go see the Grateful Dead. 
From there I had a great friendship With the entire family for years to come. I would play with the children, celebrate birthdays, anniversaries for John and Norma. I became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1998 along with Reiki training from daughter Annie. I became a Master Teacher level In Reiki  healing. I spent many hours of Therapy with Annie John and Norma as their personal healer and therapist. They were very soulful, spiritual people and shared many thoughts with me. I was truly inspired by all of them. We had a dear friendship and l cared for them deeply. I miss my friends Annie, Norma and John, but have lovely memories of each of them. They were wonderful friends and I feel blessed to have gotten to know them. Prayers of comfort to the Grand children Justin , Jonah , Jessica  and her husband Dillon. I am grateful to keep in touch with all of you seeing the wonderful people you have become. I am so proud of all of you. Annie is beaming from heaven over your blessed lives. Norma Jean special prayers over you as you will miss John the most. He is with you every moment from here on until you meet again in heaven. Death is Nothing At All.  I took up so much space with memories of this fine family that I have no more room on this post. Prayers are with all of you. 



I remember the day John interviewed me, August 1978, I was so shocked when he hired me on the spot.  Over the years I shared many fond memories and happy times with John and Norma.  My thoughts and prayers go out to Norma and their family.

We bought our first  home located beside of John’s Mother-in-law Esther Roy who was also my aunt in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1976. John and Norma were living in Texas around that time. We lived there for 5 years. John and Norma moved back to Indianapolis and we moved around the same time in 1981. John and Norma gave us a wheel barrow and an array of gardening tools. We still have the wheel barrow lol!! We loved John!! He had such a great sense of humor and could always make us smile. I know that Norma will miss him greatly as will all his family and friends. Love and prayers go out to all.

Had the privilege of caring for John .I can see by the photos that he loved his family and life. Blessings
