Joan Dean Knych

Joan Dean Knych, 80, died Wednesday, May 24, 2017. She was born April 15, 1937 in Honesdale, PA to the late Horace and Hannah (O’Brien) Dean. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Bill Dean. She graduated from Sidney Central High School in New York. Joan most enjoyed spending time with her family, attending daily mass, reading, and beach vacations. She is survived by her husband, Ed Knych; daughters, Carol Stephens (Greg), Kathy Dapper, and Christina Ugo (Pete); and grandchildren, Katie Dressing (Michael), Eddie Stephens, Sarah Dapper, Jack and Joanie Stephens, and Maria, Monica, Mark, and Matthew Ugo. Her Mass of Christian burial will be 12:00 pm Saturday, May 27 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 4650 N Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis, IN with entombment to follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Saturday. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Lawrence Church and School.
