Jennifer "Jenny" Doyle Walker, age 50, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Monday April 20, 2020 with her family by her side. Jenny was born February 24, 1970 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Dolores "Muffy" (Dezelan) Doyle and James B. "Jimmy" Doyle. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Debby Doyle McCalley and Jody Doyle Dolen and brother, Mack Doyle. Jenny battled MS throughout her life including being the first person in Indiana, 11th in the US, and 31st in world to participate in the Bridge to Recovery program to rehabilitate damaged heart tissue and recover to come off the heart transplant list. She attended St. Pius and Chatard, where she played volleyball. Jenny was an active member of St. Pius Catholic Church where she was engaged 2-3 days per week volunteering. She could be found stuffing envelopes, helping in the kitchen, serving as playground mom, and organizing events. Most importantly, Jenny was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife and mother and the kind of aunt who was a friend to her nieces.
Jenny is survived by her husband, Chris Walker; daughter, Ellie Walker; brothers, Dan Doyle (Janet) and Tim Doyle (Becky); sister, Jamie Ismail (Ahmed); brother-in-law, George Dolen; nieces, Erin McCalley Homan (Alex), Dr. Katie McCalley, and Hannah Ismail; great nephew, JJ Homan; and great niece, Deborah "Bee" Homan.
A visitation will be held Sunday, April 26, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary, 2126 E 71st St, Indianapolis, Indiana 46220. Social distancing and 10 person gathering limits will be respected, please wait in your vehicle for instruction from staff to enter and be mindful of others waiting to pay their respects. Limited family members to include her husband, Chris and daughter, Ellie may be available to greet you but many others will not be in attendance to allow for more people to have an opportunity to say goodbye to Jenny. A private family funeral service will occur Monday, April 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at the funeral home which will be streamed on the Facebook page of Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary. Following the service from approximately 10:40 to 10:55 the procession will pause in front of St. Pius Catholic Church in the parking lot for those unable to attend to drive by and pay their respects to Jenny and the family in route to her private family interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
