IN THE CARE OF
Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery
Jane Huguenard Morrison, age 58, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on April 13, 2023, with her family by her side.
Jane was born in Indianapolis on December 10, 1964 and was adopted shortly after by Kenneth and Virginia Huguenard. Jane was a proud graduate of Lawrence Central High School, class of 1983. After graduation, Jane went on to study at Indiana University Bloomington, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in 1987. In 1995 she married her best friend, and the love of her life, William W. Morrison, also of Indianapolis.
Jane worked for many years at the Huguenard family business, Star Packaging Co, Inc. Following Ken's retirement, Jane and Will purchased the company and Jane ran the business until her passing. Star Packaging is not just a manufacturing operation, it is a multi-generational extended family. The bonds formed at 4001 Prospect are deep and lifelong.
In 2004, Jane and Will adopted Gabriel (Gabe) Luis Morrison, their pride and joy. Jane was a devoted and loving mother who instilled Gabe with the empathy and understanding that she personified every day.
Throughout her life, Jane was always involved in projects and organizations that helped her community. At the time of her passing, she served as Secretary of the Board for the Lawrence Central Parent Faculty Organization and was an active member of the Lawrence Central Performing Arts Association (LCPAA), where she also served on the board. She made many dear friends in the L.C. community and her family thanks them for their love and support.
Jane enjoyed rambling the back roads of Indiana, but also loved a special spot on the shores of Elk Lake, Michigan. While Wandawood Resort is a beautiful place, what Jane appreciated most was the fellowship. Lazy afternoons solving the world's problems, campfires and telling jokes. Once again, the bonds are deep and lifelong.
Jane was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Kenneth and Virginia Huguenard, and nephew Thomas Arrigo. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Will Morrison, her son Gabe Morrison, her brothers John (Kelly) Huguenard and Andy (Sherri) Huguenard, nieces Katy Huguenard and Katie (John) Wozniak, nephews Ryan, R.J., and Connor Huguenard, Robert (Nicole) Arrigo and Daniel Arrigo, as well as her great-nieces and nephew, Naomi, Natasha and Nora Wozniak, and Max Arrigo. She is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles and others too numerous to mention. Jane treated everyone as family.
Jane had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was fearless, stubborn and independent minded, yet incredibly compassionate and sensitive. She loved her family, her community, her friends and her dogs Gus and Jack. She never met a stranger; she extended her heart to all.
Jane will be laid to rest at Crown Hill Cemetery on May 13 in a private ceremony. A Celebration of Life will follow later that day, details to be announced.
Jane can be honored by donating to political candidates who are dedicated to protecting a women’s right to body autonomy, or to other organizations that fight for social justice, protect our environment or improve children’s lives. Two of her favorites are the Lawrence Central Performing Arts Association (LCPAA.org or https://www.lcpaa.org/jane-morrison-memorial-fund) and the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy (GTRLC.org).
It is impossible to adequately describe Jane’s impact on the world; she was, and always will be a force of nature. Please keep her loving spirit with you always.
