James Cousin was born to the union of Albert and Hester Cousin on April 11, 1931. James attended School #56 and School #37. James attended Cripus Attuck High School. James served in the United States Military.
James professed his love for God at an early age. James enjoyed boxing in his youth. By the time James was a young adult he was a four times Golden Glove Champ. Later, as an adult James began boxing professionally from 1950-1958 in Indianapolis and New York under the name of "Jimmy Cousin." James was very skilled at shooting pool. James owned several pool halls on the Eastside-Indianapolis. James traveled all over the United States attending pool tournaments and competing in pool events. James passed down his love for boxing and shooting pool to many family members, and youths in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas.
James worked for Chrysler Corporation for 33 years before retiring. James was affectionally called "Cous" by many of his friends. James loved his family and friends. James departed this life on June 5th 2021 at the age of 90 years old in Indianapolis, Indiana.
James is preceded in death by his parents Albert Cousin Sr., Hester Cousin, and Dorothy Cousin James is preceded in death by his wife Lois Cousin and ex-wife Florence Cousin. James is preceded in death by his sons, Harvey Francis, Heston Cousin, Dennis Greer and Patrick Cousin (grandson). James is preceded in death by his siblings, Albert Cousin Jr., George Cousin, Ernest Cousin, Barbara Ann Wilson, and Tommy Vinson Jr.
James leaves behind to cherish his memory, Children - David (Shelby) Motley, Kenneth Cousin, Gina (Renel) Ervin, Doris A. Cousin, Geneva (Randal) Stevens-Green, and Tracie (Deon) King. James leaves behind Brothers - Allen Cousin, Melvin Cousin, Robert Cousin, Kevin Cousin and Raymond Cousin. Sisters - Viola White, Mary Smith, Deborah Bell, Alberta Hampton, Doris Winters, Stella Johnson, Catherine Hampton, and Amanda Cousin.
James leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. James was a grandfather and great-grandfather to over 30 children whom he loved.
