JAMES received his elementary education in the Indianapolis Public School System and his GED from Crispus Attucks High School.
JAMES entered the US Army at the age of 18 where he received a Parachutist and Expert Rifle Badge. After leaving the Army, he became employed by Chrysler Motors, retiring after many years.
JAMES was a hero, he was the “jokester” always having something funny to say. Everyone knew him as the local handyman. Family thought of him as their Superman.
JAMES was a loving husband and father. He was caring, kindhearted and gentle man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
JAMES departed this life on July 24, 2019. His mother, father, three brothers, Harold, Larry and Joe Louis Brown. His sister, Tonya Brown. His son Harry Leo Echols Jr., and his first wife Antoinette Brown preceded him in death.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Elisa Brown, his daughters, Tempie Appleberry and Renee Brown. His sons Stephen, Jimmy (Denise), Kenny (Paula), Michael and Eric Brown. His sister, Mary E. Salter (Willie), His brothers Ralph (Linda), Rev Arthur “Ricky” (Joyce), Melvin (Denise), Kevin, Mark Brown (Lisa) and Ralph Sweat. His grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
