Hunter Brown Jr.

Hunter Brown Jr was born to Hunter Brown Sr, and Maggie (White] Level, August 1st' 1930 in Louisville KY. After moving to Indianapolis, Mr. Brown attended PS 26 and graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1950. While at School 26, Hunter became interested in music studying trumpet and French horn and went on to be seated next to future jazz legend and educator David Baker in a picture of the Attucks band performing from the 1950 yearbook. While at Attucks, Mr. Brown also studied carpentry, woodworking, played football and was a member of the school's ROTC unit. A decision that would serve him well a little later in life.
Later in 1950, he met and fell in love with a young Southern belle from Hopkinsville KV, Biddie Ladd. They united in marriage, April 7th 1951. From that blessed union a daughter and 2 sons were born.
As the war raged on in Korea, Hunter was called to active duty by the U.S. Army. As a member of "K" Company, 23rd Infantry Regiment, Hunter served with distinction, earning 2 Bronze Stars, Korean Service Medal, Nato Service Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge. (CIB)
Mr. Hunter Brown Jr departed this life on December 15, 2018 after battling a serious illness, he is finally at rest. He was preceded in death by his lovely bride Biddie, but leaves behind his Sons, Steven H. Brown ,Sr. Eric W Brown, Daughter Mrs. Patricia A. Pruitt (Richard) 5 Grandchildren, Rayane A. Brown ,Steven H. Brown Jr. (Shara), Danielle P. West (Shaun) Markus A. Pruitt (Teena) Omar Gibson and 8 Great Grandchildren to honour his memory and continue his legacy
