Helen Mae Wade

Helen Mae Wade, 93, of Beech Grove, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1929 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Irvin H and Grace F (Huls Grantham). She married the love of her life, Norman Wade, on November 12, 1949. Helen graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1948 and was a member of the Tech Legion Honor Society. She attended Butler University and Indiana Central Business College. Helen was employed with Eli Lilly for 36 years and was one of the original employees of the Elanco division. She retired, with Eli Lilly, in 1985. Helen was an active member of Garfield Christian Church, the American Legion Auxillary #276 (Beech Grove) and Tech Alumni Association.

Helen enjoyed spending time with family, reading and working crossword puzzles. She loved watching the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds and IU Basketball.

Helen was proceeded in death by her husband Norman Wade and her parents Irvin H & Grace F (Huls) Grantham. She is survived by her son, Stephen A Wade (Teresa Wade), grandchildren Stephenie Nicole Wade, Norman Ryan (Mikala) Wade, Jessica Faith Russell, Griffin Connor Wade, Ashley Brooke Gibson, Zachary Austin (Erin) Capps, Kayley Jo Capps and great grandchildren Azalea Eileen Wade, Ezra Huxley Wade, Chaz Paxton Wade, James Glenn Gibson and Gracelyn Jo Gibson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home – Indianapolis, 4901 E. Stop 11 Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46237. Burial will be held in Washington Park East Cemetery.
