Harold was born December 21, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the parents of Curtis and Lena (Miller) Wilson. He was the third oldest of five children. Harold professed hope in Christ at a very early age. Growing up in the Indianapolis community, Harold attended Indianapolis Public elementary schools (IPS) and graduated from Crispus Attucks high school. He continued his education and graduated from West Virginia State College. While attending West Virginia, Harold was in the R.O.T.C. and as a member of the Glee Club, sang and played drums. In 1955, Harold was initiated in the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He joined the Armed Forces of the United States of America and was honorably discharged in 1959.
Harold began his teaching career in the Indianapolis Public Schools as a night school instructor. While working, he attended Ball State University receiving his Masters Degree in 1971. Harold was initiated in Phi Delta Kappa in 1975. He became Supervisor/Director of Adult Basic Education and President of the National Council of Urban Administration of Adult Education. In 1981, Harold was recognized and received the “Outstanding Adult Educator” Award. After many years of service in education, he retired from IPS.
Harold was married to Alyce (Keno) Wilson and had a son, Adam K. Wilson, who preceded him in death. Throughout his life he was given two nicknames, (Baby) and (Jug). Some of Harold’s favorite hobbies were: reading, traveling, listening to jazz music, attending jazz concerts, going to casinos in Indiana, and spending time with his dogs. Within recent years, he took a liking to Church’s chicken. He was a loving father, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend. Harold had a sweet spot for young people pursuing their education.

beloved great nieces, great nephews and countless friends. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Lena Wilson, siblings, Imogene Gaines, Earl Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, son, Adam K. Wilson, and former spouse, Alyce F. Wilson.
